In the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak, the University of Calcutta has decided to hold final exams for students and postgraduates online from October 1st to 18th, 2020.

The results of the exams will be announced on October 31st.

Students who cannot show up for online exams can send their answer sheets to their respective colleges, the university official said.

Meanwhile, West Bengal’s chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, said on Wednesday that 75 percent of the main candidates for the Joint Entrance Exams (JEE) in West Bengal were unable to take the exam on Tuesday due to the COVID-19 situation in the state.

She added that the state government had asked the center to reconsider the matter so that students would not be deprived of the right to appear for the exam.
