The committee is chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Rakesh Bhatnagar. The chairman of the committee, Dr. Manish Arora of the Department of Applied Arts said the committee was made up of academics as well as students and alumni, entrepreneurs and experts from a variety of backgrounds.
The Vice-Chair of the Committee, Prof. S. Sri Krishna, said that the ministry had developed national innovation and startup policies in higher education institutions to promote entrepreneurship at this level across the country and better position in the global innovation index to reach.
Arora emphasized that the Design Innovation Center and Atal Incubation Center were founded in 2015 and 2018, respectively, to encourage innovation at the university.
The government first launched a policy on innovation and startup in 2016, while the new policy is an improved form of the same.
The BHU, which took 11th place, jumped to fifth place in the country’s publicly funded institutions category in the recently published Atal Innovation Rankings.
The university is making every effort to get to the top.
