99% of students take the Visvesvaraya Technological University exam
BENGALURU: A whopping 99% of the students turned up for the theory exams of the Visvesvaraya Technological University, which started on Tuesday.

Out of 60,450 students, 59,742 turned up, including Covid-positive students who were assigned separate rooms. “I’m not sure how many positive students in the state took the exam, but at least three wrote the paper in Bengaluru,” said VTU VC Karisidappa.

The higher education department had announced that online classes would start September 1st, but physical classes were expected to start on October 1st. The date will depend on instructions from regulators such as UGC and AICTE1.
