Earlier in the day, the National Testing Agency had to turn down a Covid-19 positive candidate who showed up in a PPE suit at a center in Berhampur, Odisha.
According to NTA officials, the first shift saw around 84% attendance while the second shift saw 87% attendance. The percentage of participation in the test in the January cycle was 90%. The tests were carried out in 660 centers under strict security measures.
“Participation in paper 1 is normal today. In normal times there are 10% to 15% absenteeism. 84% were present in the first shift, and around 3% more in the second shift. No disruptions or delays were reported by each center, “said an NTA official.
The JEE (Main) is intended for BE / BTech approvals for 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and 28 CFTIS. In addition, around 2.5 lakh scorers can qualify for the JEE (Advanced), the admission test for the 23 IITs, which is scheduled for September 27, 2020.
According to some candidates from the second layer, the paper was overall difficult, while some from the first layer rated the paper as moderately tough.
